Mina at the Emir enjoys spectacular views over Kalkan Bay.
MINA PENTHOUSE
The apartment is fully air-conditioned and stylishly furnished and will accommodate and sleep six adults with ease. There are three full size bedrooms, two shower rooms and a large living area with an open plan fully equipped kitchen. A built-in barbecue is provided on the private south facing penthouse sun terrace. Accommodation The Mina penthouse duplex apartment is one of only twenty luxury, privately owned and superbly located apartments, created in 2006, to an extremely high standard from the former Mina hotel, now the exclusive Emir apartments. Occupying an unrivalled position only a short easy stroll to the town, with stunning panoramic views of the Old Town, harbour and Kalkan bay towards Mouse Island, the Mina apartment is the ideal place to relax and unwind. The apartment is fully air-conditioned and well equipped with all you will need to enjoy your holiday. The accommodation is arranged over two floors and comprises three full sized bedrooms, a family shower room and additional wet room and second WC, a large open plan living/dining and kitchen area, totalling approx 1,250 sq ft, larger than some villas. The private sun terrace of approximately 220 sq ft which runs the full length of the penthouse floor with a built in barbecue is ideal for alfresco dining or just relaxing and soaking up the view. The main bedroom has its own private balcony overlooking the bay with glass top table and chairs. For guests who like to keep in touch free wireless broadband is available.
Penthouse
The apartment is fully furnished and well equipped for your holiday needs. All rooms have air-conditioning. Bed linen and towels are provided and changed twice a week. Sun loungers and sun shades are provided on the Mina private sun terrace and around the pool areas for guests’ use. Beach – Pool Towels are provided for Mina guests.
Full Wi-Fi internet available.
Managers of the Emir, our friends Aytaç and Turgay, live on site and provide not only a 24 hour reception and security but are able to help, advise and book local restaurants, taxis and activities. Aytaç has excellent English.
The apartment is cleaned twice weekly including linen change. Bins are emptied daily. The power supply in Turkey is prone to periodic interruption, however the Emir apartments benefit from a full function generator to run the air-conditioning, power and lighting. The Mina apartment is superbly located, only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Kalkan with its many excellent roof top restaurants and high quality shops.
There is no need for a taxi as it’s an easy walk to the harbour.
Sun Terrace
Mina penthouse sun terrace has uninterrupted panoramic views over Kalkan bay. Relax and enjoy a leisurely alfresco lunch with a glass of wine or an ice cold Efes beer. There are three large sunshades, one of restaurant size, to provide partial or complete protection from the midday sun.
Two sunbeds are provided on the sun terrace if you wish to soak up the sun and relax in private. There is a built in barbecue with all the utensils you will need for the perfect meal under the stars.
Fresh fish is available in the Kalkan daily market and a good butcher will prepare steaks and kebabs for you to barbecue. As the sun begins to set over the hillside just sit and enjoy the view and the remarkable light with an early evening aperitif.
Emir Pools
There are two pools at the Emir available for the exclusive use of guests. Both pools enjoy spectacular views over Kalkan bay and harbour. We provide pool towels for each of our guests.
The pool depth is 1.2m at the shallow end and 1.9m at the deep end. There is a toddlers’ paddling pool with a depth of 9 cm. The lower terrace pool provides a secluded area away from the main pool for adults to relax and enjoy a leisurely swim.
Living Area
The Mina living area is provided with two, three person sofas and coffee table. In addition a third sofa can be made into a double or two single beds for increased sleeping capacity if required. The living area has a remote controlled air conditioning/heating unit, a large electric fan, fireplace and iPad docking station.
Please note that we do not provide a TV or DVD player. There are many books, magazines and games.
Many guests bring their own tablet or laptop and make use of the free broadband wi-fi. The sofa bed provides additional seating in the living area.
Two doors from the living area give access to the penthouse sun terrace.
Dining Area
There are two folding tables, six wooden chairs and six place settings which can be used for dining either on the Mina penthouse private sun terrace or alternatively in the dining area as shown below.
In addition to the folding tables there is a large glass table. If needed there are six stacking chairs and a stool available to cater for every occasion.
Kitchen
The Mina kitchen is fully fitted with granite work surface, electric fan oven, gas hob, extractor hood, large fridge freezer, water cooler, sink with mixer tap, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and microwave. There is an ample supply of crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans – you’ll even find a garlic press, egg pricker and juicer – in fact all you’d expect from a well stocked kitchen and more.
Main Bedroom
The main bedroom enjoys spectacular views across Kalkan bay to the islands and floods with sun in the mornings. The bedroom is equipped with a large double bed (1.6m) and luxury mattress topper, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table, full length mirror and wall lights. All bedding including duvets and sheets etc is provided together with towels and all are refreshed on day of arrival and mid week. English plug adaptors, a hair dryer and mosquito machines are provided. To keep you cool there is a full function , remote controlled air-conditioning unit. The private balcony is equipped with a glass table and two chairs.
Bedroom Two
The Mina apartment second bedroom has two 1 metre single beds which can be joined together or separated to meet your specific requirements.
Bedside tables, a large wardrobe, dressing table with mirror and wall lights are provided together with a hair dryer, UK plug adaptors and mosquito machines. Again there is a full function remote controlled air-conditioning unit.
Bedroom Three
The third bedroom is located on the penthouse floor and is equipped with two 1 metre single beds.

Shower Room
The Mina apartment is provided with two shower rooms. Good quality bath and hand towels are provided for each guest and refreshed on day of arrival and mid week. There is a smaller second shower room, again with WC, located on the top floor which serves the third bedroom
